Transformation of the Body series

Dr. Rammanohar: “We talk about considering the body as a temple. In fact, the structure of the temple itself is inspired by the body, the three dimensions of the physical body, subtle body and the causal body. In Ayurveda, the body is considered as the Kṣetra, which is also a term denoting a temple and the indwelling consciousness as kṣetrajña or the knower of the kṣetra. This echoes the statement in the Bhagavadgītā – idaṃ ṣarīram kaunteya kṣetramityabhidhīyate… O Arjuna, know that this body itself is known as kṣetra. In this lecture, we will discuss the Ayurvedic view of the human being and how it houses the inner consciousness and inspires the construction of the external shrine.”
