Introductory Memory

slowly slips through the dusty fingers of a child.
Chubby limbs,
sweaty palms,
her whole being searches.
Scratching bird-like about the grains of a pit
For fallen pips of tamarind trees.
An unconscious comparison of seed and toddler
Both gems in a field of glass.
