The role of the artist assistant will be to give full artistic support in the making of the sculptures/ installations.

The work could involve sorting/cutting wood, doing research, gathering materials or sanding, painting, etc. This can be a good position for young artists who will gain additional skills and see the inside story of how a working artist creates day-to-day.

Centre d’Art, Citadines Auroville Artist Residency 2021 recipient Harsha Durugadda is a multidisciplinary artist working on sculpture and performance art. He is the winner of the Rio Tinto Sculpture Award 2017 at Sculpture by the Sea, Australia. Durugadda’s sculptures have been exhibited internationally at Nord Art in Germany, Emergent Art Space in the United States, London and Australia. In 2014 he was invited by the Courtauld Institute of Art to present on Ancient Buddhist Sculpture at the British Museum, London. He has received the Andrew Stretton Memorial invitation in 2016 at Sydney.
