Welcome to the 12th chapter led by Philippe on: “AU HASARD BALTHAZAR” (BALTHAZAR) by Robert Bresson (1966) Overview: Robert Bresson, who believed that the "Cinematograph" could be elevated as one of the purest art form, is considered one of most influential movie maker in history. His style was unique, uncompromising, humanist and poetic. He delivered "Au Hazard Balthazar" in 1966, his sixth feature film out of 13. The film shows the life of a simple donkey in the changing society of the rural France of that time. But Balthazar's story is universal in its witnessing humanity. After a quick presentation of Bresson's work and few keys to help apprehend the film, the projection will be followed by an open and informal discussion.
