The French Volunteer Day and the launch of “EspaceVolontaires” in South India
On October 1, we are proud to host the French Volunteer Day and the launch of “Espace Volontaires” in South India. This indeed has already been endorsed by sending volunteers from the association France Volontaires to the Alliance française de Pondichéry under its youth international solidarity mission, which has been an ever growing partnership between the two institutions. Therefore, right from 1st October, the Alliance will open a new branch office of France Volontaires inits Maison Colombani premises. This office will aim to bring together the various volunteering agents in South India and become a focal point for sharing information and by linking various NGOs in the field with volunteers present and available in office. 1st October will be partly dedicated to the French Volunteer Day with exchanges, discussions and debates on key issues, and also with the launch of the new branch office of France Volontaires based at the Alliance française de Pondichéry. A friendly day under the stamp of solidarity!
1st October, AFP auditorium 15h30
Our film programme will continue to commemorate the centenary of the outbreak of the First World War with the screening the Apocalypse, the First World War series. Five documentaries with hitherto unreleased colorized images will be shown, providing a realistic and educational approach of the horrors of the “war to end all wars”. The cycle will conclude with a screening of Captain Conan, the legendary film by Bertrand Tavernier, set in one of the least well-known theatres of operations of the Great War, the Eastern front.
Each Sunday of the month at 18.00h, AFP Auditorium.
As part of the launch of the partnership between the Alliance française de Pondichéry and the Association France Volontaires, you are invited to discover «Volunteers across the world », a beautiful photographic exhibition showing the various facets of solidarity today. Blending culture and solidarity, this exhibition showcases the newly woven ties between the two structures.
