PondyPHOTO, a biennale festival initiated by PondyART, is a platform where art and education attempt to break existing social barriers, by presenting visually impactful photography-oriented events focused on today’s social and environmental issues in public spaces.
The theme for PondyPHOTO 2016 is WATER.
It has been busy here and will only get busier with the festival launch approaching in only 30 days! We have been printing for a month already and installation begins this weekend. We have about 45000 square feet of killer photography going up in the Old Port and along the Promenade. So exciting!
Of course there rests, as always with public installations, the challenge of funding. Despite 11 months of effort at the national level and endless trips to Government offices, we have not reached our goal. Lighting is a huge cost, second only to printing and in an effort to light the festival we have launched a crowd funding campaign on Bitgiving.com HERE !
I would sincerely appreciate any contribution you might feel the this unique presentation of photography to build awareness of the No. 1 Global issue is worthy of and/or any help you could provide in generating support from your friends, family and colleagues. Without lights, so many will miss the opportunity to view the festival, and much of our programming will become a challenge. Full details on what is coming up can be found at www.pondyphoto.com.
Thank you in advance for your ongoing support of PondyART’s efforts to promote world class photography in pubic space!!!!
